Dr. Amit Kumar has completed his Master of Technology in Computer Science and Engineering from Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra, Haryana, India in year 2002. He has completed his Ph.D. in year 2015 from Jaypee University of Engineering and Technology, Guna in the department of Computer Science and Engineering. The topic of his Ph.D. thesis is "Design and Implementation of an Artificial Immune System for Security of Computers".

His areas of interest include Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Soft Computing, Data Science and Computer Immunology. He has published various research papers in international & national journals, presented/published papers in the national conference, seminars, and workshops. He has attended various national/international conferences, workshops, faculty development programs, seminars etc.

He has more than 2 decades of teaching experience in various organizations of repute for Ph.D., PG & UG courses (BCA, B.Tech., MCA, M.Tech. & Ph.D.) of Computer Science Engineering & IT. Many students of various UG and PG courses had developed their projects under his guidance. He is currently supervising Ph.D. in the field of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning & Soft Computing.

He is the faculty Coordinator of B.Tech. Projects. He is the student branch counselor of the Computer Society of India (CSI), faculty coordinator of CSE student’s technical clubs, faculty advisor of Google Developer Student Club, Mozilla Phoenix Club and Microsoft Student Partner Program.

He is a member of the editorial board and reviewers committee of various International/National Journals. He also worked as member of the technical program committees of various IEEE and other conferences. He is an active Member (Faculty Member as well as Life Member) of the Computer Society of India (CSI). He is the recipient of the "Longest Continuous Student Branch Counselor (SBC)" award by the Computer Society of India (CSI).
