A Brief Report of the Workshop

A workshop of two weeks duration on Advancements in Software Engineering has been organized at Jaypee University of Engineering & Technology during August 17-27, 2016 by the Department of Computer Science & Engineering. Below mention topics have been covered-

Recent developments in Software engineering
Software Change trends
Role of Web Service in Software engineering
Risk assessment and agile methodology
Assessments of Defect density and software Quality
Component based software Engineering
Strategy for business logic
Component Characteristics and UML,
Component Models and Architectures,
Component-based Development Process including roles, SOLID - Design Principles,
Design Patterns, COTS – Evaluation and Selection, COCOMO II and effort estimation, Measurement and Metrics for Software Components,
Service-oriented Architectures, Implementation in Java, testing with Junit and Software Agents as Next Generation Software Components focusing JADE.
Modeling of components, Event Bus, Metrics and quality management,
SOLID design principles, design patterns Lambda Streams,
Component models, software agents as next generation as a software component and transformation SQL to Lambda streams etc.

This workshop was arranged in 22 technical sessions spread over two weeks with a nice blend of lectures, Demonstrations and Hands on practices. In this workshop seven resource persons, namely:

A total of 74 participants have participated in this workshop with full enthusiasm. Outcome of the workshop was well appreciated by the participants and workshop was completed with a positive note that such events should be organized frequently.
