National Workshop on Addditive Manufacturing
(NWAM-2015 )

The Department of Mechanical Engineering organized a three-day National Workshop on Additive Manufacturing (NWAM-2015) during November 19 - 21, 2015. The objective of this workshop was to disseminate the state-of-the-art in Additive Manufacturing (AM) technology to academicians, industrial participants, research scholars and students.

 

 

The workshop was divided into separate lecture and lab sessions. Total seven lectures were delivered by following three resource persons:

The topics covered during the lecture sessions include introduction, classification and applications of AM, rapid tooling and rapid manufacturing, specific applications in automotive, aerospace and biomedical engineering and material review for 3D printing. During the lab sessions, participants were given demonstration on repair of STL file in Magics RP and ZPrint software, preparation, building and post processing of parts on SLS EOS P395 and ZPrint 450 machines.

The workshop was attended by total 34 participants. Outside participants appreciated the quality of lectures as well as excellent lab facilities available in the Department. The workshop was financially supported by MPCST, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh.
