National Workshop on Advanced Manufacturing Technologies
(NWAMT )

Sept. 27-29, 2013

The Department of Mechnaical Engineering, JUET, Guna organized a three-day National Workshop on Advanced Manufacturing Technologies (NWAMT) during Sept. 27-29, 2013.  The workshop was organized with an objective to disseminate the advanced technologies like additive manufacturing, CIMS, LBM, Mechatronics and smart materials among the teaching community.

There were seven lectures in the above areas spread in five lecture sessions. Prof R K Pandey, IIT Delhi, delivered a very interesting and relevant lecture on green machining and bio-mimetic textures surfaces. Prof. A. D. Bhatt, MNNIT, Allahabad, chief guest of the valedictory function, talked about product development and sustainability and emotional engineering. He enriched the participants with his words of wisdom. There were two lab sessions in AM and CIMS areas. The participants were able to understand the running of the CIM system. They were able to see parts being built in both the AM systems – Zprinter 450 and EOSINT 395.

There were total 72 (51 external and 21 internal) participants from within and out of the state of Madhya Pradesh. The participants as well as chief guests were very happy with the lab facilities available in the JUET. Participants showed a lot of enthusiasm in gaining understanding of the manufacturing processes. They showed their eagerness to attend such workshop in the future.
